Support Padres Unidos
Padres Unidos works with more than 2,000 children and parents each year, fostering self-sufficiency and responsibility for education among families. These parenting courses teach families how to provide a safe and loving alternative to gangs for their at-risk teens. Classes are taught in local parishes by Spanish-speaking teachers and include free childcare. Classes are held at Juvenile Hall as well.
Become a facilitator
The diocese is partnering with the county Probation department to teach restorative justice techniques to people released from incarceration and with the county Sheriff's department teaching classes to those while in custody.
Reduce the impact of gangs by supporting Project Kinship
Project Kinship has increased community safety, promoted hope, health and well-being among the formerly incarcerated and their families, and helped individuals successfully re-enter the community with the help of faith leaders, law enforcement, universities and political leaders.
Participate in Restorative Justice training and Volunteer in a Program
